My long awaited shipment of luxury yarn arrived and I’ve been out on our porch in the spring weather dyeing up several skeins of Merino Superwash DK weight yarn. I’m not sure what is more fun…imagining colour combinations and how to bring out the subtleties of hues, or working alongside my 7 year old daughter as she thinks of names for the colours (the only requirement is the names have to be farm-related), or seeing the colours emerge from the dyepot.
With Mother’s Day approaching, our Mama Collaborative Shop is being stocked for gifts to give and receive. I have 9 skeins added to the shop, as well as some little Treasure Bags for Children, as Earth Day is around the corner. My own children have used their own Treasure Bags for years…they are simple, really, and meant to sustain the regular wear and tear of little ones out adventuring. I find the burlap is a great fabric to let the little bits fall through while holding the feathers, shells, leaves and important objects that your child scavenges to bring home.
I hope you stop by the shop and take a peek at what all the mamas have been working on lately. And if you haven’t signed up for the newsletter, it is a great way to keep up-to-date with new items listed in the shop.
And now, I have some knitting to begin…well, maybe after just one more dye pot!

And I want those totes for my little ones. xo 😉
Aw, thanks Kris! Yes, the rainbow might be a favourite…good thing I have about 70 skeins of yarn left to dye!
